A research group led by Professor Mahito ATOBE and Professor Shigenori MITSUSHIMA of the ACERC, in collaboration with research groups from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Ishifuku Metal Industry Co., Ltd, has elucidated the mechanism of action of a Pt-Pd alloy catalyst that shows specifically high performance in the selective hydrogenation of alkynes using a proton exchange membrane (PEM)-type electrolytic reactor.

The results of this research have been accepted for publication in ACS Catalysis, a journal of the American Chemical Society, and the online version was published on April 22, 2022.
