Center Director Masayoshi Watanabe (specially-appointed professor) chosen for the 73rd Chemical Society of Japan Award
Center Director Masayoshi Watanabe (specially-appointed professor) has been named as the recipient of the 73rd Chemical Society of Japan Award.
Reason for award: “Pioneering research in organic ionic materials, particularly ionic liquids”
With around 30,000 members, Chemical Society of Japan is the country’s largest academic association for chemistry. The Society Award is conferred upon researchers who perform valuable research in the area of fundamental or applied chemistry and whose work has demonstrated particular excellence. On this occasion it was given to Professor Watanabe in recognition of the highly-regarded research he has done on ionic liquids and other organic ionic materials.
